Remember me? It's Ava here. Sorry we haven't posted in awhile, but were just having too much fun! Here's a recap of our adventures this past week...
To start off with, this past Sat. we went and watched The Dark Knight at the drive-in. Jamba Juices (orange dream machine to be exact) are the perfect drink when you're waiting for the movie to start. Mom and Dad LOVED the movie, but I wouldn't know, I slept the entire time!
Besides sleeping and drinking out of a straw, I've also been growing my hair out. It's almost past my shoulders.
My new favorite pastime is throwing crayons and coloring. I would also add chewing on crayons, but my mom doesn't let me do that anymore.
Here's my first picture I've ever colored. Good huh?! My mom is going to frame it and put it on the wall. She's so proud!
The weather has been a killer lately. So we had to fit in some time at the pool.
I wish Daddy was home right now so we could go take a dip!
Speaking of Daddy, he mentioned something about starting a new job. Nothing's better than eatting a bag of Twizzlers to celebrate. Yay Daddy!
Then today we decided to go to the park.
I can never get enough of the swing.
Welp, I think that's about all that's happened this past week. Hope you're enjoying your summer as much as I am!

The Dark Knight

Anyone else going to the movie theater this weekend? Lets just say Josh and I have been looking forward to seeing this movie since last summer. So it's not even a question for us, we'll definitely be there!
I am so stoked!

Living it up in the OC
7.12.2008
I know you guys have been waiting long enough to see these pictures. In my defense, I was having a hard time narrowing down the 70+ pictures. So I just decided to post them all...hope you've got a comfy seat! Okay, I really only posted 18 pictures. But I really wish I could of seen all of your faces!
For the 4th this year, we stuffed everyone in our Passat and headed down south to Orange County. We had a blast getting to go to the beach, eating yummy food cooked on the BBQ, and shopping. But most of all, we love getting to hang out with our fam. What can I say, but they are totally awesome! Below is a picture of my super cute niece, Madison.

Here is Grandpa getting some one on one time with his youngest granddaughters. There isn't one bad picture of Maddie. On the other hand, there are only 2 pictures of Ava smiling. I know, I brought this upon myself for always shoving the camera in her face 24/7. Isn't her look like, "Oh please Mom, not another picture!"
I'm not joking, I don't think Maddie is ever unhappy. Wouldn't you be happy too if you lived this close to the beach?!
Look at this cute couple relaxing on the beach.
By the afternoon the beach was jam packed with people. But that didn't stop our little girl from wanting to take a dip in the ocean.
I must admit, I put this picture on my desktop. Looking good honey!
For months Ava has tried to climb up on our couch. Thankfully, her lack in height has hampered this accomplishment. Once she figured out she could climb up on the beach chairs, she was up there in a flash. She was quite proud of herself.
Ava and Nana having a deep conversation.
Wait. What is that? Ava has a slight smile. It probably helps that her daddy is taking the picture.
On Sat. the boys watched the little ones and let us girls do whatever we wanted. What to do when you're in southern CA? We went shopping...duh! They have an actual Carter's store in their mall. I was all over that! I could go on and on about how much fun I had, not having to push a stroller into a dressing room, not having to perfectly time my trip around nap times. But what I'm really trying to say is, thank-you guys! And in return they got to attend an A's game that night.
While Aunt Ashley was putting little Maddie to bed, Ava saw her chance to check out Ashley's bag. Luckily for Ashely, the bag was a little too high for Ava's reach.

Doesn't Shelby look amazing? It doesn't hurt that she has two cutie pies on her lap. But seriously, looking good Shelby!
What a cute family! We had such a fun time. Thanks for letting us come join in all the festivities.
Before we left we had to make sure to get a few cousin shots. What you can't see are their fathers distracting them by making faces. Shame, shame!
Awww. These little girls played so well together. I can't wait to see how they interact once they get a little older.
One more thing, on the drive home Ava told me that she wanted Maddie to come visit ASAP. Just a thought :)

I haven't really gotten into watching the show So You Think You Can Dance. You think I would since I started taking dance lessons at the age of 5. Last night I just happened to catch the last few dances of the night. The last dance was so much fun to watch. Check it out! By the way, still editing our 4th pics, so stay tuned.

Princess in training
7.08.2008
We just got back from a fun filled trip down to Orange County. When I went to extract pics from our camera, I was shocked to see we had taken almost 250 pics in a week and a half. I have a lot of pics to weed through and edit. The following pics were taken at the end of June.
Here's our little princess in her cute tutu onesie. Doesn't she know that tantrums don't work on former elementary teachers...aka mom.
This little girl decided it was more fun to play the piano with her feet. Why not?
If you're going to play with your feet, why not play with both feet?
Ava is such a smart little girl. This morning Josh was getting ready to leave for work. He turned and asked Ava if she could go and get his shoes. She walks over to our huge pile of shoes and picks up a shoe. Not just any shoe, the exact shoe Josh wears to work. After bringing it over to him she walks back to the pile and retrieves the matching pair. We've also asked her to bring us books, water bottles and such, and she knows exactly what we're talking about. I am always amazed by this little girl. I can't believe how much they can understand at such a young age.
Also, little miss smartie pants is starting to understand sign language. Not only does she understand when we do them, but she does the signs herself. She can sign the words eat, bath, bed, more, drink, and all done. Even though we've only taught her a few words, it has been super helpful being able to communicate with her. I totally recommend trying it!
