Mandatory October post

You can't get into the Halloween spirit without a trip over to a pumpkin patch. So here is our yearly pumpkin patch post. Just a little suggestion to the people at Cornbellys, next time make sure the rocking chair isn't facing straight into the sun.

Here's the princess of the pumpkin ball.

One of Reid's favorite activities at the pumpkin patch was the sandbox filled with corn kernels. Much protesting was heard from this little boy when it was time to move on to another activity.

After seeing how much fun Reid was having getting buried in the kernels, she of course had to do the exact same thing.

It doesn't happen very often, so Reid enjoyed every minute of getting to walk around all by himself. Luckily Shelby came with us, so we had more eyes to make sure the little ones didn't get into trouble.

I placed Reid smack in the middle of the hay maze to see what he would do.

After wandering for a bit he eventually found his way out. He's one smart kid. But I was shocked that he didn't just do what Ava did (see pic after this one).

Here's our little rule breaker! It's kinda hard to tell,but she's walking on top of the hay.

The whole gang took a ride on the hayride.

Slides, slides and more slides. They could of just had only this at the pumpkin patch and Ava would of been more than pleased.

She might be small, but Ava is not afraid of a challenge or of heights.

Towards the end we decided to try out the "jumping pillows". Those things are not some wimpy little pillows you snuggle with at night. The pics below are with the kids on the toddler one, but just wait till you see the one for the bigger kids.

Reid enjoyed the pillow for maybe 30 seconds. Really wasn't his thing.

He would rather watch from the sidelines. Plus, he just couldn't resist playing with those flags.

Here is the other "pillow". Ava looks like piece of lint on that thing.

If you can't tell by the expressions of all the kids in the pic, this ride wasn't too thrilling. Maybe it was because we had too high of expectations from the other cow trains we've been on. Where are the speed bumps? The spastic weaving through the corn maze? And the crazy speed demon behind the 4 wheeler that drives so fast you've gotta hold on to make sure you don't fly right out?

Here's Ava trying to ride a tricycle. Sadly she's still too short to ride one. Anyone had any good experience using those bikes with no peddles?

One our way out Ava made a side trip over to the old firetruck.

Good thing she did because this was absolutely Reid's favorite part. He could not get enough of getting to sit in the driver's seat.

There was another successful trip to the pumpkin patch. Since we are newbies to living in Utah, are there anymore suggestions of fun things to do in October?
